Wild Men

Figure above:

Fresco from the interior of a medieval house representing the Wild Man, located at Sacco, in the municipality of Cosio Valtellino, Sondrio, Italy. The painting shows the date in which the work was finished: May 18 1464. The writing, beside the Wild Man, says: “Ego sonto un homo salvadego per natura, chi me ofende ge fo pagura” (“I am a Wild Man by nature, anyone who insults me I shall scare him”). Now this ancient building has become the Museo dell’Homo Salvadego (Museum of the Wild Man).
