Images
from cylinder seals of the Sumerian-Akkadian period (2300-2100 B.C.)
showing a group of divinities besides a goddess sitting on a stall.
Some of the figures have some vegetal elements that spring from their
bodies, probably showing their function as dispensers of fertility for
the fields and crops.
