Relief from the palace of Sargon II at Dur-Sharrukin, modern Khorsabad (Iraq), dating from 721 to 705 B.C., now exhibited in the Louvre Museum, Paris. The therianthropic being represented is probably a genius or protective spirit, with a human body and eagle head and wings.
