Alabaster relief from the palace of Ashurnasirpal II at Kalhu, modern
Nimrud in Iraq, dating back from 883 to 859 B.C. At the center of the
scene appears a flowered tree, probable symbol of fertility and generative
power, flanked by two guardian geniuses with eagle head and wings. The
object is in the Pergamonmuseum, Berlin.
