Painted ceramic vase from the Neolithic culture of Cucuteni (Romania),
which developed between 5500 and 2750 B.C. The concentric circle and
spiral decoration, frequent in this period, seems to recall the concept
of cyclic time and of ritual repetition, as well as the idea of expansion
of generative energy and life force. The motif occurs often on the female
statuettes and in the megalithic art. The object is in the State Archaeological
Museum (Panstwowym Muzeum Archeologicznym), Warsaw, Poland.
