Rock painting on the wall of Gaura Chindiei cave, Romania, showing a sun disk, dating back to the final phases of the Palaeolithic (12,000 - 10,000 years B.P.). It is one of the earliest direct evidences of the importance of the sun for Prehistoric peoples.
